After School Program

The Champlain Islands Parent Child Center’s After School Program operates at the Alburgh Center from 2:30 - 5:00 PM.

Curriculum
Respect to children, communication with parents, and a consistent age-appropriate schedule is emphasized.

Program Activities
Free-play
Snack
Group meeting for guided group discussion, planning and team building
Mix of directed and self-directed activities
Long term projects -art, music, dance and sports
Fine and gross motor choice of activities
Community involvement or service
Quiet time and homework time at the end of the day
Opportunities for children to make developmentally appropriate choices
Sense of ownership in the program
Field trips and out of school opportunities
